Shuttle Service
Modern, air-conditioned comfortable shuttles make daily trips between the dock and Santa Cruz or Finca Del Sol.

Flying
La Costena Airlines offers flights twice a week (Thurs & Sun) from Managua and San Carlos Airport to Ometepe. Make sure you notify Finca Del Sol of your arrival time/date to Ometepe airport to set up a shuttle service.
60 minute flight with La Costena and a 45 minute drive from the airport to Finca Del Sol.
Driving
The roads are paved and you can reach us with a regular car - however, we recommend that you hire a 4x4 vehicle if you would like to explore the back roads around the island.
DIRECTIONS:
The ferry will drop you off either in Moyagalpa or San Jose. Make a right out of town and follow the road for approximately 20 minutes (if driving from Moyagalpa) and 10 minutes (if you are driving from San Jose).
You will arrive at a sign to a turn-off for Santa Cruz - turn right. You will then pass Ojo de Agua and a village called Santo Domingo.
Continue until you reach a fork in the road and a sign for Balgue - turn left. Drive for approximately 300 meters and you will arrive at Finca Del Sol. The Farm has a blue and yellow gate and is located directly across from a place called Little Morgans.
Public Bus
You can catch a public bus at the dock in Moyagalpa or San Jose that heads to Balgue or Merida and Santa Cruz. On the way it will either turn towards Balgue or Merida. If it turns towards Merida, get off in Santa Cruz and walk 350 meters to our gate in the direction of Balgue.
Approximately 2 hours to Santa Cruz. $2 per person. Leaves at 10am (B), 2:30pm (M) and 3:30pm (B)
Ferry Schedules
All ferries and boats depart from San Jorge and take approximately 1.5 hours to cross the lake. Prices are around $2 - $3 per person
FERRY SCHEDULE from San Jorge to Ometepe: operates daily at 7am / 9:30am / 10:30am / 12pm / 2:30pm / 4pm / 5pm
FERRY SCHEDULE from Ometepe to San Jorge: operates daily at 6am / 6:45am / 7:30am / 9am / 11am / 12:30pm / 3:20pm / 5:00pm
BOAT SCHEDULE from San Jorge to Ometepe: operates Monday - Saturday at 8am / 11am / 1pm / 3:30pm
Vehicle Ferry
To bring your vehicle to Ometepe a car ferry will cost $25 each direction + tickets per person.
Please note that the ferries are small and only fit 6-8 vehicles. There are also guarded compounds available to park your car on the mainland.
Between the months of December & April we do not recommend you bring a car because of high traffic and strong winds that cause boat cancellations.
